In 2022 and 2020, Michael and his team won more races, and national awards for their creative work, than any other Democratic political consulting firm in Arkansas.
In 2018, Michael was the consultant for underdog Eric Higgins for Pulaski County Sheriff campaign. Despite being outspent 2-to-1, Michael's tactics and strategy engineered one of 2018 big upsets that year in Arkansas's largest county.
Cook Consulting won a highly competitive Arkansas Court of Appeals race in 2016, despite being significantly outspent by the opposition. In the midst of the 2014 Republican tidal wave, his firm won the most expensive State House race in Arkansas history.
Michael helped lead the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Campaign which was a statewide ballot initiative approved by Arkansas voters in 2008. He managed Bill Halter’s successful campaign for Lt. Governor in 2006, the first time in 16 years that a Democrat won that office. Cook then served as Halter's Chief of Staff for four years.
During his tenure as Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Arkansas from 2001-2005, Michael helped revitalize and reorganize the state party. Michael’s work earned him recognition by the National Journal's "Hotline" as one of Arkansas's Rising Stars in 2003. The Arkansas Times proclaimed him the "Wizard of Voter Turnout" in 2004 when he served as the Arkansas Coordinated Campaign Director for the Kerry-Edwards Presidential Campaign.
